MP Mohammad Raad: Imam Khamenei is a Unique Figure in Islamic History; His Leadership Defined the Resilience of the Resistance

The head of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, affirmed that speaking about the personality of the Imam Leader, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, is one of the most difficult tasks, given his prominent position in the history of Islam and Muslims, particularly in contemporary Islamic political history.

Hawzah News Agency- In an interview with the website *Khamenei.ir*, MP Raad stated that Imam Khamenei’s personality is manifested in his conviction, the coherence of his thought, his compassion for the oppressed (*mustada’fin*), his firmness in adhering to principles, and his integrity in upholding the testament of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic. Additionally, he highlighted the model of governance he has provided, which is based on justice and truth, as well as his consolidation of the foundations and structures of the Islamic Republic.

Raad noted that these traits make Imam Khamenei a unique figure in contemporary history, and indeed in the entire spectrum of Islamic political history over the centuries, describing him as “brave, a jurist (*faqih*), a strategist, knowledgeable of the conditions of his time, and well-versed in the methodologies of others and how they manage their affairs.”

He added that Imam Khamenei is committed to the governance of Islam and its justice, and he believes in Islam’s capacity to provide a political, organizational, and *jihadist* model that guarantees human rights and achieves justice in societies. He emphasized that the Imam is not intimidated by threats or fear-mongering campaigns; rather, he is distinguished by his firmness, conviction, and belief that steadfastness in defending the truth is sufficient to break the enemy and achieve major accomplishments for society and the nation.

Raad also emphasized that the Imam Leader, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, was keen to safeguard the Islamic Republic’s right to possess the means of knowledge and scientific progress, ensuring its independence and preventing it from being beholden to the outside world or forced to seek its needs from major powers.

He pointed out that this approach contributed to protecting national decision-making and preventing the forces of global arrogance (*istikbar*) from exploiting Iran’s needs to interfere in its internal affairs, considering this to be the true meaning of independence and sovereignty.

Raad observed that the cohesion in state management, the sound security, military, and political management, alongside economic administration and popular cohesion with officials in facing challenges, which Iran witnessed during the recent war, reflects a portion of the fruits of the approach established by Imam Khamenei throughout his years of leadership.

He explained that the output of this path is not limited to crisis management but extends to building an integrated intellectual and cultural project. He noted that the speeches of Imam Khamenei, his directives, and the publications of his office—which have reached tens, if not hundreds, of volumes—have established the upbringing of generations that believe in the option of resistance, reject arrogance, adhere to their rights, and are confident in the possibility of achieving them.

He added that this educational and intellectual project is based on rooting faith in God, adhering to rights, and the constant readiness to bear responsibility, while consolidating the culture of “positive waiting” through preparing to support the Master of the Era and Time.

He said that the strength of the Imam Leader’s personality is manifested in its robustness and its ability to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of conspiracies and threats that have targeted the Islamic Revolution since its inception in 1979, noting that the Islamic Republic emerged from every confrontation phase more solid and committed to its goals.

Raad added that the goals of the Islamic Republic lie in establishing truth, spreading justice, organizing the nation’s affairs in a way that prevents hostile powers from interfering in its societies, and building an Islamic society committed to divine rulings that triumph for the truth and confront falsehood and its cohorts, considering these goals as the most sublime of aims.

He stressed that Imam Khamenei’s experience, characterized by its firmness and steadfastness, has practically proven the possibility of victory over enemies, even those perceived as the strongest. He pointed out that the recent confrontation between the Islamic Republic, the United States, and the “Israeli” entity revealed the true extent of American capabilities.

Raad further affirmed that the United States emerged from that confrontation as a loser and did not achieve its goals, accusing it of relying on force to subjugate peoples and supporting the “Israeli” entity in its war on Gaza and what he described as genocide.

He believed that the Islamic Republic emerged from the confrontation “with its head held high” and was able to impose its goals on the American side, citing what he described as the “recent memorandum of understanding.” He said that, from his point of view, he did not find any clause in it that achieves what the United States was seeking, considering most of its clauses to be in the interest of the Islamic Republic, while emphasizing that the final judgment remains tied to the implementation phase.

Raad stressed that experience confirms that steadfastness in the truth and commitment to it leads to achieving desired results, adding that supporting the oppressed, Muslims, and downtrodden peoples has formed a constant title in Imam Khamenei’s approach, translated into support programs for peoples and anti-arrogance movements.

The head of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc reiterated that the personality of the Imam Leader, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, represents one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Islamic history, due to his conviction, intellectual and political steadfastness, firmness in adhering to Islamic principles, and keenness to support the oppressed, in addition to his loyalty to the path of Imam Khomeini and his consolidation of the rules of the Islamic state.

He explained that this personality combined jurisprudence, courage, sound management, and an awareness of the changes of the era and the mechanisms of managing conflicts, along with a belief in Islam’s ability to provide a political, organizational, and *jihadist* model that ensures the rights of peoples and achieves justice. He noted that Imam Khamenei faced threats and pressures with steadfastness and the conviction that defending the truth ultimately leads to victory.

MP Raad viewed the strength of Imam Khamenei’s leadership as being manifested in the Islamic Republic’s ability to withstand conspiracies, sanctions, and pressures since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizing that these confrontations did not weaken it but rather increased its cohesion and determination to achieve its goals of establishing truth, spreading justice, building a society committed to Islamic values, and protecting the nation’s independence from external interference.

He pointed out that the Iranian experience revealed the reality of the major powers that raise slogans of human rights without adhering to them, considering that the recent confrontation between the Islamic Republic, the United States, and the “Israeli” entity showed the limited American ability to impose its will, and that Iran emerged from it stronger and more steadfast after managing to impose its political vision and achieve results in its favor, citing the clauses of the recent memorandum of understanding which he saw as serving Iranian interests.

He stressed that Imam Khamenei never abandoned support for the causes of the oppressed, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, but rather transformed this commitment into practical programs to support resistance movements and peoples facing hegemony and arrogance projects.

Raad pointed out that the nation’s loss upon the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei would be an irreplaceable loss, considering that prominent leadership figures, most notably the martyr Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, were formed intellectually and spiritually in his school, to the point that they became a model of commitment to his approach and vision. He emphasized that loyalty to him lies in adhering to his line and continuing his path, calling on all resistance forces to preserve this legacy.

He added that Palestine and the resistance in Gaza, like other resistance movements, owe it to Imam Khamenei for keeping the Palestinian cause alive in the nation’s conscience through his continuous support for the resistance and his promotion of the spirit of resilience and hope among the resistors in the face of the occupation.

Regarding Iranian affairs, Raad considered that the recent confrontation with the “Israeli” entity brought down the image of superiority it sought to entrench in the region, praising the leadership of the Islamic Republic, its political and military institutions, and the Iranian people, who he said proved their awareness, unity, and rallying around their leadership in facing challenges, presenting a model of prioritizing national interest over internal differences.

He noted that Imam Khamenei attached exceptional importance to the unity of the Iranian people, recalling his stance during the events of 2009, when he emphasized preserving the unity of the Islamic Republic, considering that the power of conviction and the concern for the cohesion of the people and the leadership formed a basic pillar in managing that phase.

Raad emphasized that this approach left a direct impact on the resistance experience in Lebanon, recalling Imam Khamenei’s recommendations during the period of disagreement with the Amal Movement, which focused on the necessity of maintaining the unity of ranks and preventing division, due to its importance in facing enemies. He considered that the subsequent cohesion between national forces and the resistance is the fruit of those directives, and that maintaining a unified position remains the basic guarantee for safeguarding the homeland and enhancing its ability to face challenges.
